Opera Bites, Sydney’s favourite boutique opera company has once again partnered with The Castlereagh Boutique Hotel to bring you an unforgettable evening of fully costumed popular opera complete with a bespoke menu and bubbles on arrival. As you step through the doors of this breath-taking heritage listed dining room you’ll find yourself immersed in the world of operatic splendour.

Escape to sultry Spain with everyone’s favourite Gypsy temptress. Be seduced by Bizet’s ravishing melodies as passions ignite and fates collide in this adaptation of one of the world's favourite operas.

Ex-corporal of Dragoons Don Jose awaits his fate in a court of law. He addresses the jury (you!) and tells of how he was guarding a cigarette factory in Seville. There, he succumbed to the charms of the gypsy temptress Carmen. Allowing her to escape arrest, he abandoned his regiment (not to mention his hometown sweetheart, Michaela), and embarked on the life of a gypsy smuggler. Soon, Carmen tired of Don Jose and looked to the sexy bullfighter Escamillo who turned her head. Passion drove Don Jose towards an inexorable fate ...

The music and drama never fail in this 90-minute retelling of Bizet's famous opera. A fully costumed, engaging production, sung in English. Come, and be part of the action!
