Gang of Four Australian Tour

Almost 30 years after forming in Leeds, Post-punk legends Gang of Four remain an unstoppable force in the Post-punk music scene. And they're set to hit the road this coming April in the land down under.

Beginning in Perth on Monday, April 18, the tour will then head to Adelaide, stop by Brisbane then to Sydney before finishing in Melbourne.

Gang Of Four peform tracks from their 2015’s album, the ode to a dystopian future What Happens Next.

Although there were times when the band had to reconstruct, they still managed to emerged with debut album Entertainment! where they showcased their radicalism, like a blast of ice-cold water. They delved with rock‘n’roll themes like love, sex, community and spontaneity and incorporated these themes in their music.

Entertainment! was tagged as the eighth best album of the 1970s by Pitchfork and one of the best of all-time by Rolling Stone (plus a personal favourite of Kurt Cobain). Not too mention The Gang of Four’s music and live performances have been a source of inspiration for R.E.M., Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Minutemen; Rage Against the Machine, Nirvana and Massive Attack; Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party and LCD Soundsystem.

Gang of Four now has a bigger line up, including: John “Gaoler” Sterry on vocals, Thomas McNiece on bass and Jonny Finnigan on drums.

What Happens Next, the title of Gang of Four’s latest album, band's world - inside and outside. It comes as an emphatic commitment to the future. Collaborating with the band on this current work are Alison Mosshart of the Kills and the Dead Weather, Gail Ann Dorsey, Robbie Furze of the Big Pink, and German musician and actor Herbert Grönemeyer.

With Gang of Four in Australia, you can expect nothing but 2016s premier punk moment.
