Halo Films presents Greenfield.
Exploring and investigating masculinity is the obvious place to begin the discussion as men are most likely to harm themselves and/or others through many different core issues which will be investigated and identified and discovered as we attempt to restore the balance and find better ways to relate to each other as compassionate humans. #BreakTheCycle
Cast will also be available from time to time to comment on the experience and process of the movie.
The film follows James, who returns to the small town of Greenfield to win back his former girlfriend, Kelly. Tensions soon explode when Kelly's brother Michael tells James a volatile secret. A dark shadow unsettles Greenfield when this secret is revealed.
Greenfield is directed by Julius Telmer, produced by Daniel Tenni, Mikkel Skov and Robert Livings and stars Liam Graham, Ethan Tomas and Marthe Snorresdotter Rovik.
Filmed entirely in Merredin, Greenfield explores important themes of masculinity in crisis and identity.
Ian Hale, Halo Films Managing Director, says the themes are difficult to approach, yet crucial.
"Toxic masculinity can have crippling effects on society, it's time it was exposed and examined."
The film will screen at The Backlot Perth from April 22 with further locations to follow. Tickets are now available for The Backlot screenings.
Halo Films is committed to supporting West Australian filmmakers by releasing films and documentaries that don’t have an existing distribution deal or theatrical release in place.
