The Friends of ANZAC Cottage Inc is pleased and proud to announce its return to ANZAC Cottage. In the first “Coming Home” event to be held on July 26 from 1:30pm to 4pm, the Friends will focus on the return of the wounded and ill soldiers on the first troopships to arrive back in Western Australia after the Gallipoli landing. These stories, sometimes sad, and sometimes humorous reveal the strong respect for the servicemen felt by those ‘back home’. The talk is scheduled to be held at 2pm and repeated at 3pm, but is reliant on social distancing conditions.
ANZAC Cottage is situated at 38 Kalgoorlie Street, Mount Hawthorn and entry is by donation with afternoon tea available for a gold coin donation and ice-creams available for sale. The Friends of ANZAC Cottage Inc has prepared a COVID-19 Safe Plan in accordance with government and museum guidelines. For more information, please contact Anne on email: chapan@highway1.com.au or by phone on 0411 44 55 82.
