Kevin Peterson is a little bit lost. After leaving university, he really thought that he wanted to be an artist. A theatre-maker. He's not exactly sure, though, because he’s been trying to write this play and it's not going very well. Don't ask. He doesn't want to talk about it. On the brink of a breakdown and struggling to express himself, Kevin has a miraculous idea—stand-up comedy. Why not? The only problem: he's incredibly emotionally unstable, and he's never performed stand-up in his life.
Part backstage comedy, part millennial soap-box, and part existentialist fever-dream, Kevin Peterson's Stand-Up Show is a play with no restraints. Follow a young man's plight to make sense of himself despite suffocating anxiety, in this comedic exploration of mental health, art, and identity in a trial-by-fire of the mind's own creation.
CW: strobe lighting, coarse language, simulated violence, discussion of mental illness.
